Barrett Alosa: First off you have to make sure your laptop and television have the ports for the cables that can be plugged in then you'll be good. The cables will either or both be a S-Video cable or the HDMI cable. If you have a HDMI port then use that to plug into what your trying to do because you'll get way better sound and video and any basic HDMI cable will do, don't go spend $50+ on some super advanced cable that does the same thing as a $20 one.
