Inez Relihan: it all the drinks bartender makes the over flow lands in the rail!

Sena Highman: This Site Might Help You.RE:what is a rail drink? At certain bars I've seen specials listed for rail drinks. what does that mean, is it the same as well drinks?...Show more

Boris Hadsall: Yes, rail and well drinks are mixed drinks consisting of the "house" alcohol (vodka, gin, bourban, rum and tequlia). Most bars stock the cheapest booze they can get, like McCormicks as their house. Some bars have more high end wells like Smirnoff, for example. These bottles are all conveniently kept in a rail along the ice bucket or beer cooler so you can't see them - never on the shelf - hence the name rail.

Lu Tiner: almost always a very crappy assortment of alcohol, spend a few bucks, save yourself a hangover and go top shelf.

Rose Krouse: It's just the cheapest brand of that particular liquor, you'll never see a bartender grabbing it off the shelf, it's usually bel! ow the bar.. I have never heard of well drinks, but I would assume that they are one in the same.

Season Confalone: Rail and Well is the same term.
